This powerful endorsement from industry leaders underscores the critical need for solutions that transform untapped proprietary data into strategic intelligence for staffing firms.

Toro, an AI-powered intelligence platform for the staffing industry, today announced it has secured strategic seed funding from a prominent coalition of industry-leading staffing firms and renowned staffing thought leaders. This powerful endorsement from industry leaders underscores the critical need for solutions that transform untapped proprietary data into strategic intelligence for staffing firms.

"We're thrilled to partner with investors who recognize that staffing firms already possess their most valuable asset—proprietary intelligence trapped in their notes and communications with candidates and clients."

"Their expertise and industry knowledge will be invaluable as we transform how organizations leverage their existing data to drive efficiency and capture market share," continued Mark Hummel, Co-Founder of Toro.

Toro was founded in 2024 by Mark Hummel and Tim Arnold, who bring complementary expertise from their successful careers in staffing technology. Since its inception, the company has developed AI solutions that transform unstructured applicant tracking system data such as conversations into actionable intelligence, enabling staffing organizations to make better-informed decisions and identify opportunities that would otherwise remain invisible in their systems of record.

"Staffing organizations are drowning in data but starving for insights," said Tim Arnold, Co-Founder of Toro. "This capital enables us to rapidly scale while continuing to develop state-of-the-art solutions that transform how staffing leaders, salespeople, and recruiters leverage their organization's collective intelligence without becoming data scientists themselves."

The strategic investment round includes participation from Kavaliro, who also backed Tim and Mark's previous successful venture, Fyre, through acquisition by Bullhorn; Adam Francis, Founder and former CEO of Host Healthcare; Joel Wiersma, Chief Information Officer at Atlas MedStaff; and Travis Arnold, Founder of Boostie and former co-founder of Herefish. The round also includes investment from one of the largest healthcare staffing firms in North America.

"Toro addresses the fundamental intelligence gap in staffing—transforming what firms already know about their talent into strategic insights that drive better outcomes."

"We've witnessed firsthand how Tim and Mark transform complex staffing challenges into elegant technological solutions," said Bill Peppler, Chief Operating Officer at Kavaliro. "Toro continues this tradition by creating intelligence systems that evolve and improve with every interaction, generating compounding value over time."

Adam Francis, who scaled Host Healthcare to $800 million in revenue before its acquisition by Medical Solutions, added: "Their approach creates a proprietary advantage that competitors simply cannot replicate."

"Our company has always prioritized technology that enhances human connection rather than replacing it," said Joel Wiersma, CIO of Atlas MedStaff. "Toro's platform embodies this philosophy by making our team more effective at the point of decision while preserving the relationships that drive our business."

Travis Arnold, who successfully founded and sold Herefish to Bullhorn, noted: "Having built automation tools for the staffing industry, I immediately recognized Toro's transformative potential. Their platform doesn't just provide data—it delivers intelligence exactly when and where it's needed to drive results."

Toro operates in the $45 billion recruitment technology market, which serves the broader $665 billion global staffing industry. The company's intelligence-driven approach addresses critical strategic challenges faced by staffing firms of all sizes.

With this funding, Toro will expand its team with strategic sales hires and customer success capabilities while accelerating its R&D roadmap. Key initiatives include expanding into additional staffing verticals, integrating with popular staffing platforms, and developing organizational intelligence capabilities that transform how staffing firms operate at every level.
